Campbell County is bisected by three major highways. U.S. Route 460
travels east-west across the northernmost boundary of the county and
U.S. Routes 29 and 501 travel north-south through the county. U.S.
Routes 460 and 29 are four-lane highways with limited-access bypasses
around Altavista and Lynchburg (U.S. 29) and a bypass around Lynchburg
(U.S. 460). These highways provide quick and save access to major
markets across the region, including Greensboro, Raleigh-Durham,
Richmond, Roanoke, and Northern Virginia.
